Khalif Wailin Walter Blues Band
Khalif Wailin Walter undoubtedly belongs to the new generation of young blues musicians from Chicago who continue promoting the tradition and spreading the blues message around the world. Khalif’s music is firmly rooted in the tradition of Chicago electric guitar blues, which combines it with modern funk and innovative arrangements, creating its unique musical seal. His temperamental vocals are at one point pleasant and seductive, and in the next moment passionately accentuated, while their performance and interpretation reminds of the great ones from Chicago – Albert King, Albert Collins, Otis Rush and Carl Weathersby.
He graduated jazz at Roosevelt University in Chicago, and for four years played in the Lonnie Brooks Band. During his independent career, he has shared the stage with great blues singers such as Taj Mahal, Otis Rush, Jimmy Vaughan Band, Buddy Guy Band, Junior Wells, Bernard Allison, and was singled out at the Chicago Blues Festival five times and more than 22,000 visitors featured on one of Michael’s recent performances.
